I Guess Now I Have Something to Blog About...

Well Christmas I took a step into a new life. Joshua Edward Wayman, my best friend and the love of my life, asked me to join his crew:) He is a gangster, a straight up G. And the gangster life is the life for me.....Just kidding.

WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!! Josh really out-did himself with the ring, but I love it so much. I really feel like the luckiest girl in the whole world. Josh is the love of my life! I never dreamed I would find someone who would match up so perfectly with me. Thanks MATCH.com...or maybe it was eharmony....Oh I can't remember:) But July 14th we are about to join forces and become a happy little family! We'll be living in my little studio apartment for now, hoping not to kill each other! I love you Josh! I'm so excited for the day to come where I wake up next to you every morning!!

The Recipe for Happiness

A few semesters ago I wrote a research paper on Happiness and wether or not it is something that can be defined. In terms, happiness is "a state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy." But I wanted to find out exactly what makes you feel that! My conclusion was that happiness is simply different for each person. Over the past few years, my happiness seemed to be confused and lost. I was on this ultimate search for it, when really it was within me all the time. I was just too stubborn to see it. Over the past few months, I have felt utterly filled with complete happiness. I have also come to the conclusion that the recipe for happiness has one ingredient....GRATITUDE. Therefore this post is a list of just 10 of the things I am grateful for or the reasons why I am happy!

  1. Jesus Christ- Through Christ's atonement, I am able to feel the remarkable sensation of forgiveness. My life has been truly blessed having been raised in the Gospel & being able to lean on the Savior at ALL times.

  2. My Family- 'Ohana means family, Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.' My family is my biggest support. Without them, my life would have no meaning. They are truly remarkable and have helped me grow and learn from the many experiences we have gone through. My mom & my brother are my best friends. And my grandparents have been some of the biggest influences on my life. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for their teachings and examples.

  3. Job- Although monetary value is not the most important thing for happiness, it is a necessity. I am so grateful for my job that allows me to eat, have a car, go on vacations, buy clothes, etc. Thank You Luke for giving me a job especially in these hard times!

  4. Scriptures/Prophets- The sciptures and the counsel from our Prophets help me get day to day. They give me guidance and help me make many of my decisions!

  5. Sunshine & Smiles- What more can you ask for in a day than sunshine & smiles. I love SUNSHINE! Feeling the warmth of the sun or seeing the rays shine down on us is one of the most enjoyable things to me. Not only that, but how can you resist feeling good when someone smiles at you! Also, when I smile I feel much happier. If there were just a few more smiles throughout your day, wouldn't the world be such a better place??

  6. Good Friends & Lovers- Ashlyn & Bethanie are two people I am grateful to have in my life. They listen to me complain, repeat myself, be indecisive and a little silly most the time! But I am so glad to have good friends who are there for me! Thank you Bethanie for being my conscience and helping me make better desicions! :) Also to my Lovers...you know who you are :) Thank you for helping me grow and learn about life.

  7. The Gym- I like to refer to the gym as my "Perfect Boyfriend". He's there for me at any hour of the day, makes me a better person, & always makes me happy due to the release of endorphins. Working out always makes me feel better about myself. Even if I look the same, it makes me feel accomplished!

  8. Music- The good thing about music is that when it hits you, you feel no pain...Everyone knows music is my life. It takes me to a different place. Music gets me through the good, the bad, and the ugly! Would DIE without it!

  9. Freedom- Many times I take this for granted. How grateful I am to live in a country where I can go and do as I please. And thank you to all the soldiers who are or who have fought for me and my freedom.

  10. Trials- Although at the time trials can be very hard and make me very sad, they have made me who I am today! I am so happy that I have got to experience life so that I can further help others by having my own knowledge.

No Strings Attached

"If you miss me, you can't text, you can't email, you can't post it on my wall. If you really miss me, you come and see me."

No Strings Attached is one of my favorite new movies. Although a little dodgey, I like it. Lateley my Hopeless Romantic has been coming around.....Another quote from this movie I really like is....

"We don't get to pick who we fall in love with, and it doesn't happen like it should"

Movies depict this perfect love romance. It's crap. Love can be HARD! It never happens right, and sometimes you fall in love with people you shouldn't. But thats how it was meant to be. Love happens and you can't deny it. You can't fight it. You just have to embrace it. No one knows what to expect, but you do it in hopes that it will work out! So I say....LOVE! Love whoever you want! Life is too short. So take the leap, dare to dance, and fall in love!! :)

A Way With Words

Some people have a way with words. Me on the other hand.....don't got none words good to say. I usually don't ever blog because I don't really have much to say or I don't know how to say it. The last few weeks, I have had some things that have sparked my mind into a vast whirl of thoughts and contemplation. And so, I decided to blog about my nonsense of thoughts and ideas.

First....I read this case study called, "An Indian's View on Indian Affairs". It was simple to read because Indians talk in plain words. It was almost like reading the words of a child. More on my level:) This article told a story of Chief Joseph, a leader of a tribe who was being forced out of their own land by the white man who were trying to buy it. Chief Joseph was all about Love, love for the people and love for the land. He believed that land couldn't be bought. He also believed that the Great Creator, created all men and all things and that we should all live in peace. This article kicked me back to my Hippie roots. It made me remember that we are all created by God, the Great Creator. No man is better than another. We should love all things the same, including the land we live in, the animals, the air, the trees.....I wish I could be an Indian sometimes....they seem more connected with the spirits and they seem to look upon life more simple than we do. Which leads me to the next hippie/thought provoking thing....

I watched Avatar again. Avatar always makes me want to be connected with the spirits and universe! It makes me have a deeper connection with the trees and plants and air and everything around me. It makes me aware. I believe that the spirit can talk to us through many things in life. Wether it be through another person, a soft whisper, or a feeling brought upon us. I feel that nature helps me listen to the spirit. When I can appreciate this beautiful world God created for us, then I am able to recieve his guidance and blessings easier. It is a simple way of life, one filled with love. That is the life I want.

Next...Conference. Conference this month was Amazing! I could go on for hours about it, but one talk I really liked was Elder Quentin L. Cook's talk about how amazing LDS women are! This talk helped remind me about who I need to be, and what I want to be. Which then leads me to my next thought provoking experience....

The other night I was asked what my "plan" in life is....What is my plan in life? There are many things I want to do....but are they in my "plan"?? I never really thought about it. I just have been living life day by day and trying not to worry about anything. But I started thinking....and thats when the No! No! words came to my head.....MARRIAGE.....

I've never really thought about getting married. In the great words of T. Swift, I've been left 'wondering why we bother with love if it never lasts'. I've always been quite the Hopeless Romantic....But I have realized that is the only thing I want right now. To find someone who is going to love me as much as I love them back. What an amazing feeling it will be to completely devote my life to that person. And to have a family of my own. I figured out that my plan is short and simple....
1) Find Prince Charming and be sealed in the Lord's House
2) Create Mini Me's and raise them in the Gospel
3) Live Life with a Smile on my face and a Prayer in my Heart
4) Sit on my Front Porch swing and reminisce about the "Good Old Days"

This plan seems promising to me, and is all I really need. However I do have many wants and desires. I believe that these goals will just fall into place whenever they are suppose to. But it is good to know what they are so that I can make them happen. So here is a list of things I want....
1) Finish School
2) Raise a happy family in the Lord's Church
3) Travel to Ireland, Italy, Greece, Fiji & Tahiti
4) Serve a Mission
5) Be Happy
6) Do as much service as I can
7) Be a cheer coach
8) Have a Library of children's books
9) Be a Light to the World

I'm sure I have a million other ones, but for now thats all I can really think of. So there ya go....This is what has been occupying my mind. I know its not much, but I am a simple person. I like sunshine and lilies and cowboys and pina coladas:) I don't ask for much, I don't expect much. I just smile and try to have a good time:)

La Buena Vida

Adios Mexico!!! Just got back from my 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise!! Oh how I miss it already!

We were on the Carnival Spirit, and it was one of the funnest vacations of my life! Me, Shelby, Spencer & Jer were in one room, and Sadie, Court, Kari, & Liz were in another. A group of about 8 Brighton Boys went to!! It was soo much fun!!
We drove all the way to San Diego, where we set sail!!! Such a long car drive. We all passed out!The cruise stopped in Cabo San Lucas for 2 days and we soaked up the sun on Lover's beach!
Then we were in La Paz for a day! Just relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine!

One night on the cruise ship they had this game called The Quest. We got in groups of 5, and they would tell you to do different things like first group who brings 3 room cards...or first group with a boy wearing lipstick...and it got saucy! My group took first place and won a bottle of champagne..too bad we had no use for it:)

The food was great! Super fancy. Suchada was our waitress and was the cutest lady I have ever met in my life!! She is from Thailand!! Love you Su:)

Thats about all......It was sooo much fun besides the sea sickness I got:( Can't wait for next year though!!!

My 30 Day Battle!!

Today kicked off the first day of the hardest battle I will ever fight......NO CHOCOLATE, CANDY, BROWNIES, COOKIES, SWEETS, SUGAR, ANYTHING!!!!

March 20th, my friends and I will set sail for our cruise in Mexico! I am extremely excited because I have never been on a cruise before!! However.........my bod is not too excited for that itsy bitsy tennie weenie yellow polka dot bikini!

So here I am challenging myself to a 30 day NO SUGAR battle. I also am starting an even more intense work out schedule. My day at work is filled with exercise, and then after work will be filled with some mean work out sessions! My goal is to not sit for more that 15 minutes at a time. So I have myself on the following schedule:

8:00 50 Calf Raises
8:15 Walk the Stairs
8:30 20 Tricep Dips
8:45 30 Lunge/Squat combo
Repeat Every Hour
Then My Workout Schedule for the week is the following:

Monday 30 Min Abs, 1 hr Bootcamp (Best interval class ever)
Tuesday 1 hr Kickbox
Wednesday 1 hr Pole Fitness
Thursday 1 hr Cardio/Killer Ab Workout
Saturday 1 hr Yoga

Hopefully this schedule will help me to look like this.....>
I am doing good so far. My body percent fat is down to 15.3%. And my goal is just to get it under 15%. I really need to focus on toning and muscle gain because I am currently at my ideal weight. So here goes nothing.
WISH ME LUCK!!!
